According to Stockrisers.com, Trey Kaufman has earned a scholarship offer from the University of North Carolina.
Kaufman is a 6-foot-8, 210 pound power forward from Sellersburg, Indiana. Kaufman is a four star and listed by 247Sports as the 40th overall prospect in the class of 2021.
According to CourierJournal.com, Kaufman’s high school coach, Brandon Hoffman, says Kaufman is “just the total package, but not anywhere near his ceiling.” Hoffman describes Kaufman as an unselfish player who is the best passer and shooter on his team. According to MaxPreps.com, as a junior at Silver Creek high school, Kaufman averaged 25.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. Kaufman was the 2019 state of Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year.
Kaufman now holds 11 scholarship offers. Notable schools include Indiana, Virginia, Louisville, and now, North Carolina.
Kaufman is the 10th offer the Tar Heels have out for the 2021 class. His recruitment is far from over, but in state school Indiana is considered the favorite. 247Sports’ Mike Pegram and Chad Lykins have logged Crystal Ball predictions for the Hoosiers.
