The Tar Heels are currently in the home stretch of the 2023 early signing period and the team landed an official visit from an under-the-radar target on Wednesday afternoon.
2023 3✮ RB Jordan Louie is an offer that flew under the radar for many back in late September, but he should be firmly on it now. Earlier this evening via social media, he made it official that he will be on campus in Chapel Hill the weekend of December 9th. The Tar Heels are one of three schools that will receive an official visit on the final three weekends of the early signing period, joining Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Louie took official visits to West Virginia, the team that he was committed to at one time, and Memphis back in the summer.
Louie, the No. 55 running back in the class according to 247Sports, just recently completed his senior season at Meadowbrook High School in Norcoss, GA with the team’s first round exit of the GHSA 7A state playoffs. He finished the season with 2,198 yards of total offense and 19 total touchdowns, leading the team in rushing and tying for second on the team in receiving. This was a breakout season for the 5’11, 205 lbs. back and that is why the offers have started rolling in.
Louie is the just the third running back that the Tar Heels offered in this cycle and this is the first one that they have appeared to make a legitimate push for. Landing the official visit proves that the Tar Heels are a legitimate threat in this recruitment and so do his comments to On3, where he said that he is “pretty high” on the Tar Heels. The On3 Recruiting Prediction machine currently has the Tar Heels as the slight leader for him and there is a good chance that the team could add him to the class. If they do, the class would contain seven players from the state of Georgia, the most of any state that currently has prospects committed in this cycle.
