As the month of July rolls along, so does the string of commitments from Tar Heel targets. Five of the next nine days will feature a commitment from a prospect that officially visited Chapel Hill last month, including a stretch of four straight days with at least one decision.
The first of those four straight commitments will come from 2024 ATH Kameron Courtney. Courtney announced yesterday afternoon that his decision will come on July 15th at 12:00 PM.
The decision looks like it will come down to two schools. The Tar Heels are one of those three after hosting him for an official visit back on the third weekend of June. His other official visit destination, Indiana, will also be in the running after he was on campus with them to close down the month.
Following the trip to Chapel Hill, Courtney told Inside Carolina that the Tar Heels were “No. 1” for him, but things have changed since then. On the Tar Heels front, the team has added commitments from 4✮ CB Zion Ferguson and 3✮ S Jalon Thompson, who the team may view as a cornerback, to go along with 3✮ Carlos Mitchell Jr.. If the team was going to take another corner in this class, it would likely be 3✮ Teddy Foster, who had them in the top three that he released on Thursday.
Where the Tar Heels stand at the position combined with the visit that he had in Bloomington would seem to suggest that it will be Indiana for him on Saturday.
