According to Tipton Edits, Coach Roy Williams and the Tar Heels have extended a scholarship offer to Jarace Walker. Walker is a prospect who had been on the radar of the Tar Heel staff longer than even he knew. Williams and staff signed current Tar Heel Armando Bacot from the IMG Academy class of 2019, thus Williams and staff became familiar faces at games. Yes their presence was for Bacot, but little did Walker know Williams already had his eye on him.
Walker is a 6-foot-6, 220 pound wing from Bradenton, Florida. 247Sports has Walker listed as a five star and the sixth overall prospect for the class of 2022.
Walker is a prototypical athletic wing with a versatile game. He has a smooth long range jumper, can get to the basket with ease, is a strong finisher at the rim, creates separation with his speed, and has great vision.
Although there is no clear leader in his recruitment, Walker said Virginia Tech is prioritizing him and that the Hokies, Michigan, and Maryland have stuck out to him. We’ve heard this before, but Walker also noted he grew up following the Tar Heels.
North Carolina now has five offers out for the 2022 class. Walker joins Skyy Clark, Mark Mitchell, Dylan Anderson, and Jaden Bradley-Bradley is a current teammate of Walker’s at IMG. Can Williams and staff lure both to Chapel Hill? Stay tuned to Heel Tough Blog for all future recruiting updates.
