The Tar Heels are one of the hottest teams on the 2023 recruiting trail right now and they will have the chance to continue that success on Monday night with the commitment of one of their biggest in-state targets.
Earlier today, 2023 4✮ WR Chris Culliver announced via social media that he will be committing tomorrow evening at 5:30 PM EST. The Tar Heels and Virginia Tech Hokies were the only two teams to receive official visits during the month of June, signifying that this is a two-horse race to the finish line for his services. The Tar Heels have been the slight leader for him nearly the entirety of his recruitment, but following his Virginia Tech visit last weekend, this announcement feels like it could go either way tomorrow.
So far there are only two expert predictions that have been cast, but both are in favor of the Tar Heels and do come from significant sources. Brian Dohn, national recruiting analyst for 247Sports, and Adam Friedman, national recruiting analyst for Rivals, both casted their predictions for the Tar Heels today. It is also encouraging that Dohn set his confidence level at a 7.
This one definitely doesn’t feel like as much of a sure thing as some of the other decisions that have come down recently, but the forecasts are certainly encouraging. I am still a little cautious with this one, but it feels like this is one that the Tar Heels will pull out in the end.
