Saturday, the Tar Heel basketball team will be back in the Smith Center for a ranked matchup against Florida State following Wednesday night win over Duke. Saturday will also be a big day for the football team, though, as Mack Brown and his staff will host a highly anticipated Junior Day that will involve some high profile 2020 targets. This is a packed group of 2020 prospects, but of course the headliner will be the 5✮, Antoine Sampah, who remains loyal to keeping the Heels in the running after receiving his first offer from Carolina. 4KeAndre Lambert’s visit will be an important one, as it will be his first Chapel Hill since receiving an offer back on January 16th. Familar faces, such as 4S Nehki Meredith and 3OLB Mohamed Kaba will be back on campus once again, as will Chartlotte-area teammates in 4OLB Trenton Simpson and 3WDE Quinten Williams. Other notables include in-state 3’s Zo Wallace and Jason Romero Jr., who could be close to receiving offers and unrated cornerback LaMareon James, who the Heels are locked in a battle with Virginia Tech for. Five of the six current 2020 commits will also be among the group visiting, as they’ll be hoping to add some new classmates over the weekend.

UR ATH Dontavius Nash- Hunter Huss (Gastonia, NC)

UR SDE Jahvaree Ritzie- Glenn (Kernersville, NC)

UR ILB Dameon Wilson- Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC)

The most talked about member of this group will be Gabe Stephens, who will be in attendance with teammate and 2020 commit Elijah Burris and is one of the early stars of the 2021 class in the state of North Carolina. Frequent visitor Dontavius Nash will hit campus once again and a new offer to the 2021 class, longtime offer Dameon Wilson will also swing by campus once again and Jahvaree Ritzie, will be on campus for the first time since being offered.

2022

UR WDE Travis Shaw- Grimsley (Greensboro, NC)

UR ATH Jamal Burnell Jr.- Indian River (Chesapeake, VA)

Only two 2022 prospects have been confirmed to be on campus this weekend, but Travis Shaw already holds an offer from Carolina and is one of the best underclassmen in the state of North Carolina. Burnell Jr. is a relative unknown, but comes from one of the top schools in the state of Virginia.

The Heels will also be welcoming back a group of former players as Mack Brown continues to try to build relationships with the former players.
