Wednesday will start a stretch of six commitments in seven days from players considering the Tar Heels as the team continues to round out their 2024 class. It all gets going with a guy the team has felt good about for a while but has seen become more of an uncertainty as the week has gone on.
2024 3✮ DL Justin Terrell will announce his commitment at 5:00 PM tonight at his high school in Rome, GA. Terrell announced his top five schools back in late June with the Tar Heels being joined by NC State, Virginia, Cincinnati and Indiana. He took official visits to Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Charlottesville last month with his Tar Heel trip coming in the third weekend.
Following his trip to Carolina, they appeared to be the favorite and held that position even after his stop in Raleigh. This week, though, there has been some movement in favor of NC State and it has made this a true toss up heading into the decision later today. The late momentum for the Wolfpack could be enough to put them over the top.
As of right now, there are no predictions cast across the three major recruiting websites showing just how cloudy things are heading into the decision. The On3 Sports Recruiting Prediction Machine does slightly favor the Tar Heels, but this is as up in the air as any recruitment this year heading into a decision.
