The Tar Heels have seen back-to-back commitments from safeties in the 2024 class and on Saturday another target at the position is set to announce his decision.
2024 4✮ S Kaj Sanders will reveal his destination at 4:00 PM tomorrow afternoon on the Rivals.com YouTube page. Sanders is down to four schools heading into the decision with the Tar Heels being joined by Rutgers, South Carolina and Wisconsin. He took an official visit to each of those schools during the month of June, including his stop in Chapel Hill back on the third weekend of this past month.
The Tar Heels did an excellent job to hang around in this race, but it never really felt like they were in position to land his commitment at any point during his recruitment. South Carolina was one team that established itself as a serious contender early, while Wisconsin has been the team making the late push here. In the end, though, in-state Rutgers is the team that appears as if they will emerge with his commitment on Saturday.
The recruiting experts strongly favor the Scarlet Knights as well. Across the three major websites, five predictions have been cast all in favor of Greg Schiano and company and with pretty strong confidence levels. The On3 Sports Recruiting Prediction Machine also is heavily in favor of Rutgers to get the job done today.
