The next two days will be chaotic on the 2024 recruiting trail as four of the team’s remaining targets will announce their commitments. One of the two that will announce his decision on Thursday is 3✮ in-state WR Keenan Jackson.
Jackson will announce his commitment at 3:00 PM tomorrow afternoon via social media. He released his top six schools list back on May 30th, but only officially visited four of those schools. The Tar Heels were the team that got the final shot with him this past weekend following a visit to the team that is probably the biggest threat to them, the NC State Wolfpack.
The Tar Heels have been the slight leader in this race for the majority of his recruitment and it feels like that is kind of where things stand heading into Thursday. Chapel Hill has been the place he has frequented the most, making nine total trips to campus over the past two years. His connection with the staff seems strong, and getting the last say here appears to have put the Tar Heels over the top.
The recruiting experts are relatively quiet when it comes to the decision, but there was one significant prediction that was cast in favor of the Tar Heels. 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn submitted his crystal ball prediction earlier this evening with a confidence level of six. Dohn so far this cycle has cast 56 predictions and has gotten all but one right so this is a big one for the Tar Heels to have in their favor. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine also favors them right now.
