We are currently entrenched in what may be the most chaotic period of roster movement in the history of sports with the opening of the college football transfer window today. The Tar Heels have lost nine players to the portal in the last day and a half. While the defensive side of the ball has taken the biggest hit with seven players departing, this team did lose a reserve tight end earlier today.

Sophomore tight end Kendall Karr announced via social media that he will be entering the transfer in search of a place to play out his final three years of eligibility. The former 3✮ prospect in the 2020 recruiting cycle struggled with injury issues throughout his time in Chapel Hill, limiting him to just 37 career snaps, all of which came on special teams. This year was easily where he saw his most significant action of his career, playing 18 snaps on kick return and 12 snaps on field goal block.

The tight end room is still in really good shape as the team’s trio of Bryson Nesbit, Kamari Morales and John Copenhaver all have the option to return for next season. The early signing period is scheduled to add another option to the room in the form of 3✮ Julien Randolph. Jake Young will also be a part of the room as a walk-on.
