The Tar Heels are not desperately searching to add another commitment in the 2026 recruiting class at the running back spot, but they might have a gift that falls into their laps in the form of a Florida commit.

According to his Rivals page, 2026 4✮ RB Carsyn Baker will officially visit Chapel Hill for the team’s game with the Duke Blue Devils starting on November 21st. Baker has already officially visited Kentucky and will also be officially visiting Ole Miss this weekend and Georgia Tech the final weekend of the regular season.

Baker, the No. 174 overall prospect and No. 14 running back in the 2026 class according to 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, is in the midst of his senior season at Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, GA. In eight games so far this season, he has run for 539 yards and eight touchdowns on just 56 carries to go along with 114 receiving yards and one touchdowns on six receptions. Last year, as a junior, he ran for 1,260 yards and 13 touchdowns on 143 carries while also catching nine passes for 89 yards. As a sophomore in 2023, he only carried the ball 31 times but turned it into 303 yards and three touchdowns. That came after his freshman season where he bursted onto the scene by running for 619 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games.

It feels like the Tar Heels have to really impress with this visit, but as they have shown recently with other top recruits, they are more than capable of doing that.
