Heel Tough Blog: 2027 3✮ WR Decommits from UNC

After being committed to UNC for a year and a half, 2027 3✮ WR Skylar Robinson has officially decommitted from the program.

The report came from Inside Carolina on Friday afternoon, but was something that has been expected for a while. 

His commitment back in January 2025 came on the heels of his brother transferring into the Tar Heel program through the portal. After one season with the program where he appears in just one game, his brother, Jason, reentered the transfer portal putting Skylar commitment in a state of doubt.

Skylar, the No. 1134 overall prospect and No. 153 wide receiver in the 2027 class, did not take a visit back in the spring nor did he find his way to campus for an official visit during the summer.

With his decommitment, the Tar Heels are down to one commit at wide receiver in this class in the form of 3✮ WR Anthony Williams, who pledged to the team on Saturday.

The good news is, the team is working hard to add at this position as we hit the final week of official visits for the summer. The team is suspected to be the favorite for 4✮ WR Amare Patterson according to a report from Chad Simmons of Rivals ahead of his decision which is set for Saturday at 6:00 PM on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel. The team is also hosting 3✮ WR Chad Willis in an attempt to flip him from Cincinnati. The thought is that the team is willing to take both regardless of if the other commits.
