Heel Tough Blog: Harris Out For Season With ACL Injury

Anthony Harris drove the lane late in the game against Yale, when he collapsed and fell to the fell. It was a no contact injury and the worst was feared. Harris had just returned to playing basketball earlier this month, after suffering a knee injury his senior season of high school. The basketball program announced today that he has in fact torn a ACL in his right knee which will cause him to miss the remainder of the season. Harris was averaging 7.5 points over the last 4 games, and had 14 points in the second half in the win over UCLA.

The injury to Harris limits the depth in the backcourt as Cole Anthony is still on the sideline with a knee injury of his own. Anthony is expected back sometime this month, but this means Carolina is going to ask more from freshman Jeremiah Francis, along with K.J. Smith who started the first 3 games after Anthony’s injury. Also expect Leaky Black to see some time at the point guard, as well as Andrew Platek as Roy Williams continues to adjust his rotation amid all the injuries

Carolina returns to the floor tomorrow night against Georgia Tech, as Roy Williams will go for win 880.
