After committing to Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels back in early June, one of the team’s 3✮ interior offensive line commits has flipped to another school.
As he announced via social media on Monday evening, 2027 3✮ IOL Lauifi Tosi has flipped his commitment from UNC to Stanford following a renewed push from the Cardinal over the course of the past month.
This decommitment doesn’t come as much of a shock. Shortly following his commitment to Chapel Hill back on June 1st, Tosi’s father put out a post basically confirming that his recruitment was still open. Just ten days later, the Cardinal officially extended him an offer and began their push. Even though they didn’t get an official visit, the Stanford staff was able to do enough to flip him, something that didn’t seem like a difficult task once they officially entered the running.
With Tosi out of the fold, the Tar Heels still sit with 17 commitments in the class, including three on the interior of the offensive line. As of right now, the only offensive line target that the team is still waiting on a decision from is 4✮ OT Kelsey Adams, but that could change as we get into to the season and flip candidates begin to emerge.
