Heel Tough Blog: Official Visit Weekend Recap- June 19th

The Tar Heels closed out their official visits for the summer this weekend as they look to make a final push with some remaining targets in the 2027 recruiting class. Here’s a look at who was on campus this weekend and where their recruitments stand.

3WR Chad Willis- Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep (Southfield, MI)

Willis has been committed to Cincinnati since May, but he has been taking official visits elsewhere showing that his recruitment remains open. Auburn reportedly did well with him last weekend, but that nor his official visit to Cincy deterred him from making this visits. With how hot the Tar Heels have been on the recruiting trail, it’s hard not to give them a fighting chance here.

UR WR Malik Ratliff- Northwestern (Rock Hill, SC)

Ratliff was offered by the Tar Heels last offseason, but he has necessarily been pushed for by the staff until this week. He was a late add to this weekend’s official visit schedule, but with this being his only visit of the summer, it feels like this is the Tar Heels commitment if they want it. Whether they want it or not will probably be determined by how things go with the team’s higher rated targets at the position.

UR TE MiCah McClintock- Woodruff (Woodruff, SC)

Another late addition to the official visit schedule is McClintock, who the team offered earlier this week following one of the installments of the King of the Hill 7-on-7 camps. McClintock is currently a Liberty commit, but this visit shows that his recruitment is not down just yet. The Tar Heels had to outshine what he has seen at Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic and Liberty in previous weeks, but that shouldn’t have been a challenge if they are motivated to add him.

UR EDGE William Bromilow- Westshore Rebels (Vancouver, BC)

Bromilow was a name that wasn’t even on the radar entering Friday, but that Tar Heel fans might want to have on their radars. This feels like a contingency plan for the program if they can’t flip one of their other targets at the position, but this might be one that the team takes a commitment from regardless if they feel he fits. With no other major college offers at this, it feels like this will be a decision for the Tar Heels to make as opposed to the other way around.
