With the Tar Heels just 47 days away from kicking off the 2026 season in the Aer Lingus Classic against TCU, fall camp is just on the horizon. On Monday, the team announced when they will open training camp later this month.
Per a release from the program earlier this afternoon, they will begin camp on Thursday, July 30th in Chapel Hill, which is 30 days from the opener.
The team will begin camp with a mandatory seven-day period where they will not be in full pads and will have limited contact. In total, the team will be allowed up to 25 preseason practices in those 30 days.
During the 30 days, there will be four media sessions, starting with the opening day of practice and continuing with one each of the next three weeks on Wednesday.
Next week, the team will be sending head coach Bill Belichick and players Melkart Abou Jaoude, Christo Kelly and Jordan Shipp to Charlotte for media days. We at the Heel Tough Blog will have live coverage from the event on Friday of next week.
