With three recent commitments for the Tar Heels on the interior of the offensive line, there was some thought that the team might be full there in this class. As Monday proved, that wasn’t quite the case.

As he announced via social media earlier this evening, 2027 3✮ IOL Jaiden Lindsay has flipped his commitment to Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels from Colorado following an official visit to Chapel Hill over the weekend. That visit followed an offer that was extended to him back on June 11th, shortly after he had committed to the Buffaloes.

Lindsay, the No. 800 overall prospect and No. 62 interior offensive line in the 2027 class according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, is preparing for his senior season at Good Counsel High School in Olney, MD. In 2025, as a junior, he earned first team All-WCAC, first team All-Met from the Washington Post and first team All-State honors from SI Now.

Lindsay, who measures in at 6’4, 300 lbs., is a very nice addition for the Tar Heels on the interior of this offensive line. He may not be the biggest interior offensive lineman that the Tar Heel have in this class, but he has the ability to drive guys back off the line of scrimmage and does a good job of putting a lot of those guys on the ground. He has that mean streak that is needed along the offensive line and it shows up not only in the run game, but in pass protection, as well. You get a good look at what exactly he is in pass protection with a lot of reps on his highlight tape and what you see is a guy who moves very well laterally but can anchor when he needs to. With how well he moves, it wouldn’t surprise me if he got some look at tackle at some point. There is also the thought that he could play some center, too, showing just how versatile a piece he may be. This feels like another underrated piece for the Tar Heels in this 2027 class.

With the commitment, the Tar Heels now have 17 in their 2027 class. In the Rivals Industry Team Rankings, the team jumps to No. 38 in the overall rankings and No. 9 in the ACC rankings.
