After the Tar Heels signed 39 commits in the early signing period, it seemed like they were done in the 2026 recruiting class, but that apparently was not the case.
As first reported by Inside Carolina, the Tar Heels have landed a commitment from 2026 3✮ IOL Dujuan Davis after offering him earlier in the day. Davis chooses the Tar Heels over offers from Florida Atlantic, South Florida, Ole Miss, Rutgers and Western Kentucky.
Davis, the No. 2387 overall and No. 241 interior offensive lineman according to Rivals Industry Rankings, played his high school football at Clearwater Central Catholic School in Clearwater, FL. Judging off of his film, he was a three year starter for the school, spending his time at right guard in his first two seasons before playing some left tackle as a senior.
Davis, 6’7, 380 lbs., is the definition of mauler that projects to play on the interior of the offensive line. He has powerful hands and tremendous upper body strength that allows him to blow defensive linemen back off the line of scrimmage with ease. Physicality is no issue for him at this level, which is encouraging, but we’ll have to see if that translates to the college level where the defensive tackles will be just as physical back. He doesn’t get many opportunities to do it on his senior film, but he does succeed in some of the pull-blocking situations that are highlighted in his junior season, showing there is some decent mobility there at his size. Even still, dropping some weight will probably be the first thing that the staff will be focusing on with him when he arrives to campus, as well playing with a lower pad level, things that will be important for him to work on if he is going to be a contributor at this level. For right now, this is a solid addition for the team that fills their need for a body along this offensive line.
With his commitment, the Tar Heels are now up to 40 total in the class that will likely become official on Wednesday with Davis’s expected signing. The class currently sits 17th in the overall rankings and 3rd in the ACC rankings according to Rivals Industry Team Rankings.
