The Tar Heels have already landed five commitments along the offensive line, but it appears the team might not be done just yet.
Earlier this evening, the Tar Heels landed in the top schools list for 2026 3✭ IOL Tyreek Jemison on Tuesday night. They are joined by Georgia Tech, Kentucky, NC State and Ole Miss, all schools that he will have visited before he makes his decision on June 27th, a date that he made official tonight.
Jemison, the No. 540 overall prospect and No. 77 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class according to 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, hails from Paulding County High School in Dallas, GA. This past season, as a junior, he was named all-county offensive lineman of the year and earned all-region honors for his efforts.
When it comes to where his recruitment stands, it feels like it is pretty much a toss up between the five schools that he will have officially visited when it is all said and done. If anyone holds the advantage, it might be in-state Georgia Tech, but even then the advantage is slight. The question with the Tar Heels is whether or not there is room for him with all of the commitments that they have already taken on the offensive line in this class.
