Saturday was a loaded day of official visit announcements for the Tar Heels in the 2025 class. Three of the team’s prospects in the class, including one of their commits, revealed via social media when they will be officially visiting campus this year.
3✮ IOL Trey Blue will take his official trip to Chapel Hill as part of the sizable group of prospects that will be on campus on the weekend of June 7th-9th. Blue committed to the Tar Heels back in September and looks to be solidly committed to the team at this time.
4✮ S Kainoa Winston will be in Chapel Hill later in the month, as he’ll officially visit June 21st-23rd. Winston was on campus earlier this month for the Tar Heel basketball game against Duke and he seems to hold them in high regard. They appear to have positioned themselves as the biggest threat to Penn State, which looks to be the favorite in this recruitment at the moment. The gap between the two doesn’t appear to be that significant, though, and it is noteworthy that Carolina is the first school he has scheduled an official visit with.
Unranked OT Antoni Ogumoro will wait until the season to take his official trip. Ogumoro will be on campus the weekend of October 4th-6th and will take in the team’s game against Pittsburgh. His recruitment appears to be between three in-state teams after he moved to Elgin, OK this offseason from Jacksonville, NC. Both NC State and East Carolina look to be in good shape in this battle, but the Tar Heels are the first to get an official visit set with him.
