The Tar Heels just wrapped up a weekend of official visit, but they will not be waiting till next weekend to get the next significant group on campus. Starting on Tuesday, the staff will welcome five more significant targets to campus for their official visits. Here is a look at the group that will be there and where the Tar Heels stand with them heading in.
Uncommitted
4✮ S Davon Benjamin- Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, CA)

Benjamin is the highest-rated prospect that the team has hosted so far and the Tar Heels are hoping that they can somehow become a legitimate contender in his recruitment. Michigan and Texas have already hosted him for official visits and seem to be in good shape, as does Oregon, who is the favorite to land him with multiple forecasts in their favor. Just getting Benjamin on campus and having a chance to impress him is big for the program.
4✮ WR Calvin Russell- Northwestern (Opa-Locka, FL)

Russell is another highly rated 4✮ prospect that the Tar Heels are hosting midweek and they are also hoping to show him that they are a legitimate threat in his race. The good news for the Tar Heels is that recent additions Zavion and Jayden Griffin-Haynes have a strong personal connection to him and are definitely pushing for him to be a part of this class. Heading into the visit, this recruitment feels pretty wide open, so there is plenty of opportunity here for this Tar Heel staff.
4✮ DL Vodney Cleveland- Parker (Birmingham, AL)

Cleveland is a guy that the Tar Heels are trying to reestablish themselves as a contender in this race. The team at one time had themselves right in the thick of things so it feels like there is opportunity here for the team to seize. The hipe is that the team can join what is a pretty close rave between his other official visitors.
3✮ EDGE Ashton Blatt- Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, PA)

Blatt is yet another target that the Tar Heels are trying to prove themselves with here, but his recruitment doesn’t seem nearly as wide open following his weekend trip to Penn State. The Nittany Lions appear to be a pretty solid leader for him right now as he heads into this visit and will likely take the Tar Heel staff blowing him away for them to actually have a real shot here.
3✮ OT Khalil Sanogo- Mansfield Legacy (Mansfield, TX)

With Sanogo, it is all about the Tar Heels justifying their spot as a contender for him in what is another open race. He has already taken visits to Arizona and California and has visits with UNLV and Kansas State on the horizon. This is a race that is begging for someone to ascend to the top and the Tar Heels might be the team that can capitalize on that.
