With the summer circuit underway now, players are busy planning their official visits for the upcoming season, as their respective recruitments will heat up. The Tar Heels are still seeking their first commitment of the 2025 class, which isn’t unusual in the new world of roster building with the transfer portal being the primary focus, but they need to start adding known talent for the years to come after RJ Davis exhausts his eligibility. One of the 2025 prospects that UNC has spent time working on in recent months has been Malachi Moreno, the No. 25 player in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports.
After the UNC staff was on hand to watch Moreno in the 3SSB Championship, Moreno’s high school coach, confirmed to Inside Carolina that Moreno will be on campus in Chapel Hill on September 14th. His UNC visit is sandwiched in-between a handful of visits to other high-profile programs including Ohio State, Indiana, Kentucky, and Arkansas.
