Heel Tough Blog: 2027 Official Visit Schedules- IOL

Official visits are set to resume for the 2027 class at the end of month, as the Tar Heels look to convince some important targets that they should be a part of what will be a smaller class this year for the program after the massive class the group brought in last cycle. To get you prepared, we’re taking a look at the prospects that have scheduled official visits with the program by position groups and updating you on where their recruitments stand heading into the month. Today, we’ll look at another spot the staff is pursuing heavily in this class: the interior offensive line, which has a significant group of official visitors stopping by this summer.

3✮ IOL Shavezz Dixon- Lee County (Leesburg, GA): June 12th

Dixon revealed on Sunday that he will be announcing his commitment on June 5th and it's hard to figure out how exactly the Tar Heels should be feeling about this. Exiting spring visits, Dixon told Inside Carolina that the Tar Heels were in the lead, but there has been some buzz around Pittsburgh recently and he was on campus with Virginia at the beginning of this month. It feels like the Tar Heels are still in a good spot, but is it good enough to result in a commitment?

3✮ IOL Kyson Mallard- Westover (Albany, GA): June 12th

Mallard has a packed official visit schedule, but has held on to his visit to Chapel Hill. As we sit here today, this recruitment feels pretty wide open and is why he is taking so many official visits. The Tar Heels will be one of the final schools to make their pitch to him, so that could certainly be an advantage for them, but they’ll need a strong visit to stand out from this loaded group of visitors.

3✮ IOL Jordan Dillon- Effingham County (Springfield, GA): June 19th

The Tar Heels offered Dillon back in early April and immediately jumped into the top tier, meaning this will be an important visit for the Tar Heels. The other two teams that appear to be in that top tier, Georgia Tech and NC State, will get their shots first, but the Tar Heels will get the final say here as long as he doesn’t commit following either of those other visits. Overall, the Tar Heels have to like how they are positioned here.

3✮ IOL Jaiden Thompson- Rockmart (Rockmart, GA): June 12th

Thompson just recently added the Tar Heels to his official visit ledger following an offer from the staff, putting the team directly in the running for his services. In-state Georgia Tech is the only other team that has an official visit scheduled with him right now, but they will be tough to beat with how established they are already. The Tar Heels will get the final say of the two, though, if he makes it to campus, so there is definitely a chance here.

3✮ IOL Ronald Moore- Collins Hill (Suwanee, GA): June 5th

Moore is another prospect where it feels like things are pretty wide open heading into the official visits. Virginia Tech (May 29th), Pittsburgh (June 11th) and Purdue (June 19th) will all have their shots at him and it will be up to the Tar Heels to stand out from this group. If anyone has the advantage here, it looks like it might be Purdue, but it is definitely not a gap that can’t be overcome.

3✮ IOL Ryan Moore- Sandy Creek (Tyrone, GA): June 19th

Moore is a prospect that the Tar Heels have to feel good about coming into the month. The Tar Heels made an early spring surge with him to put themselves in the lead for his services and appear to have held on since then. The Tar Heels have the advantage of getting the final say here, so it might not take much for the team to land his commitment if they want it.

3✮ IOL Sincere Wilkerson- Edge.water (Orlando, FL): May 29th

Wilkerson will enter this month with the Tar Heels in control of this recruitment. Even though they only have a slight lead for his services according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, UNC is the only school that has an official visit scheduled with him at this time. Missouri is a recent offer that could pop up with an official visit at some point, but it feels like the Tar Heels have this race won if they are willing to take his commitment.

3✮ IOL Neal Roberts- South Gwinnett (Snellville, GA): May 29th

The Tar Heels are one of two teams that have an official visit scheduled with Roberts, but judging by the major recruiting sites, they will enter the month firmly behind in the quest for him. South Florida is the team that has established itself as the clear leader for him at this point and it would be a shock if he ends up elsewhere. It will be interesting to see if Roberts even makes it to Chapel Hill.

3✮ IOL Colt Hauser- Cardinal Newman (Jensen Beach, FL): June 19th

The race for Hauser’s services appears to be down to three and the Tar Heels are one of the two battling to catch up to the leader, West Virginia. The Mountaineers are the hot team since their offer in April, but the Tar Heels and archrival NC State are lurking hoping that they can make an impact with their official visits. The Tar Heels will close out his visit schedule, which could be seen as an advantage, but they will have to make some major strides here to get it done.

UR IOL Nori White- Hough (Cornelius, NC): May 29th

White is another member of the Hough offensive line who holds the Tar Heels in high regard entering his official visits. They took over as the leaders in his recruitment immediately upon offering back in April and, as of right now, it is the only program that he has an official visit set with at this point. This is another recruit where the Tar Heels will likely have the say as to whether or not they are willing to take his commitment.

UR IOL Keilan Neal- Franklin Road Academy (Nashville, TN): May 29th

Neal has three official visits scheduled this summer, but it feels like this is really a two-team race. While the Tar Heels are still expected to get an official visit in late May, it appears that this decision will come down to South Florida and Tulane. It will be interesting to see if he even makes it to Chapel Hill at this point.

UR IOL Cooper Hodson- Providence Day (Charlotte, NC): June 19th

Hodson is one of the Tar Heels' most recent offers in this class and he wasted no time setting an official visit. As of right now, his only official visit is to Chapel Hill, so this will be another player who the staff will likely be making a decision on at the end of the month.
