Earlier this preseason, UNC announced that the annual BlueWhite scrimmage would be played in Asheville, as the annual preseason event that officially tipped off the start of the basketball season, is evolving in the new era of college basketball, where NIL is at the forefront. That was announced before Hurricane Helene made its way through the western part of the state, leaving Asheville and many other communities in a state of natural disaster after the historic storm made its way across the mountains. With that in mind, the event has been moved back to Chapel Hill.Â
Not only will the Blue/White scrimmage be back in Chapel Hill, but it will take place on Saturday, October 12th, instead of Sunday, October 13th, like originally planned for. UNC football is at home against Georgia Tech next Saturday, and the basketball scrimmage will begin roughly 45 minutes after the conclusion of the action on the gridiron in Kenan Stadium.Â
Tickets for the scrimmage will cost $10, with all proceeds going to Hurricane Helene relief. Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, October 8th, at 10 AM.Â
