Heel Tough Blog: Demon June Re-Signs With UNC

On a day where countless players around the country are officially entering the portal, the Tar Heels have received news that one of their top priorities this offseason is re-signing with the team.

Per a release from Tar Heel football on Friday morning, the team has agreed to a new deal with true freshman running back Demon June. The details of the deal have not currently been revealed.

June will return to Chapel Hill after a productive first season in a Tar Heel uniform where he led the team in rushing yards. He played 244 snaps this season in twelve games, running for 464 yards and two touchdowns on 84 carries and catching 17 passes for 159 yards and one touchdown.

This is a massive re-signing for this Tar Heel football team that needed to keep their leading rusher in place. June is a high-upside back that has the potential to be the next success story for the team if he can get the requisite blocking in front of him. Now, the attention for the Tar Heels needs to turn to keeping guys like Jordan Shipp and Melkart Abou-Jaoude.
