The Tar Heels have the majority of their official visits for the 2025 class set, but on Monday the team added a running back who is committed to another school to that group.
As first reported by Inside Carolina’s Don Callahan and later confirmed by his player page on 247Sports, 2025 4✮ RB Bo Walker will take an official visit to Chapel Hill on the weekend of June 14th. This is part of what will be a packed month of visits, which starts with his trip to Athens on the final weekend of May. He will head to Louisville on June 7th and close his schedule at Georgia Tech following his trip to Carolina on June 21st.
Walker, who is 5’8.5, 205 pounds, is coming off one of the most productive seasons of any back in this 2025 class. While leading his Cedar Grove team to the GHSA 3A state title, he carried the ball 250 times for 1,579 yards and 29 touchdowns and caught 37 passes for 422 yards and a touchdown. He earned first team all-state and all-region honors for his efforts.
The Tar Heels appear to at least have a chance here, but they will need a strong visit if Walker doesn’t see what he needs to see from Kirby Smart’s group to start everything off. He looks to be Carolina’s top target at the running back spot right now, which could help, but it’s hard to think that the other two schools that will host him don’t hold him in high regard, too. Just getting this official visit set, though, is a promising start for the Tar Heels in their pursuit to add a blue-chip running back to their class.
