For the fourth consecutive day, the Tar Heels have landed a commitment in the 2027 class, this time in the form of one of the recent official visitors at the offensive tackle position.

As he announced via social media on Thursday morning, 2027 3✮ OT Hudson Ingalsbe has committed to UNC over Kansas State, Virginia and and Florida State amongst others. His commitment comes after he officially visited Chapel Hill back on the weekend on May 29th. His recruitment has been a quiet one, so he didn’t say anything to either major recruiting site following the visit, but clearly it was enough to push things across the finish line.

Ingalsbe, the No. 805 overall prospect and No. 60 offensive tackle in the 2027 class according to Rivals Industry Rankings, is preparing for his senior season at White Plains High School in Anniston, AL. He was awarded first team all-county honors for his efforts with a White Plains team that finished the season just 3-7. He is also an outstanding wrestler, who just finished his junior season with a 41-0 record and won a ASHAA 1A-4A state title at the 285 lbs. classification.

Ingalsbe, who measures in at 6’6, 287 lbs., is an athletic offensive tackle prospect that has some nice upside that he brings to the table. The athleticism really shows up on the film when he is out in space on screen plays. It’s also on display with how he moves in pass protection, which allows him to stay in front of edge rushers. Once he gets his hands on a defender, the wrestling background shows up, as he is constantly wrestling defenders to the ground and piling up pancake blocks. He may have to add more weight and strength to his frame when he arrives to Chapel Hill and clean some things up technically, but he has some nice potential that this staff is hoping to seize.

With his commitment, the Tar Heels now have 11 commitments in the 2027 class, including four commits along the offensive line, all of which have come in the last two weeks. The class now sits at 51st overall team rankings and 14th in the ACC rankings in this recruiting cycle.
