With the Tar Heels losing Armando Bacot this offseason, the expectation was that the team was going to go into the transfer portal and add a big man. As expected, that seems to be the case and on Thursday, the team got in contact with their first target of the cycle at the position.

As first reported by Inside Carolina, the Tar Heel staff has been in contact with Kentucky forward Aaron Bradshaw, who was the first defection from the program following the rumors that John Calipari would be leaving for Arkansas. The former 5✮ prospect has three years of eligibility remaining.

This year, as a freshman, Bradshaw averaged 4.9 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game in just 13.8 minutes per game. He came to Kentucky rehabbing an injury that kept him sidelined for the first few weeks of the season, but when he came back, he was receiving consistent minutes and starting games. As the season went along, though, his numbers began to decline and eventually led to him losing playing time. Recruiting analysts were concerned about him underperforming at times at that level and it seemed to carry over to the college level as a freshman. Hopefully, if Carolina is to bring him in, they could bring out that talent that made him such a promising prospect and add a little fire as well.
