Heel Tough Blog: Tar Heels Lock In OV With 2027 3✮ IOL

The 2027 class has hit the point in the offseason where they are beginning to schedule official visits and on Tuesday, the Tar Heels received the news that one of their recent offers on the offensive line will be officially visiting this summer.

As he announced via social media, 2027 3✮ IOL Shavezz Dixon, whom the Tar Heels offered on Monday, has set his official trip to Chapel Hill for the weekend of June 19th-21st. The Tar Heels are joined by Virginia Tech (May 29th-31st), Florida State (June 5th-7th) and Texas A&M (June 12th-14th) as schools that have already set official visits up with him.

Dixon, the No. 532 overall prospect and No. 43 interior offensive lineman according to Rivals Industry Rankings, hails from Lee County High School in Leesburg, GA. This past season as a junior, he was a first team all-region member and an AAAAA all-state member according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. 

Early on, it’s tough to get a strong feeling on where he might be trending, but this is a tough group that the team will have to navigate. Getting him on campus would be a big win with some of the schools that he will be officially visiting beforehand.
