After a quiet week of portal entries, the Tar Heels lost their 17th transfer to the portal on Saturday night in the form of another young wide receiver.
As he announced via social media, true freshman wide receiver Kenedy Uzoma is entering the transfer portal after spending just one season with the program. He will have four years of eligibility remaining wherever he lands after taking a redshirt year this year.
In his lone season in Chapel Hill, the former 3✮ prospect failed to register a single snap.
Uzoma spent his senior season at the prep level at St. John’s Catholic School in Buckeystown, MD with 817 receiving yards and eleven receiving touchdowns on 34 receptions and 24 total tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, four quarterback hurries, one pass defensed and one forced fumble while playing both wide receiver and edge rusher for the team.
His departure isn’t overly shocking with the group of wide receivers that the team brought in last week in the 2026 early signing class and the guys that were already ahead of him on the depth chart. The team is still scheduled to have thirteen scholarship receivers this year, so they should be in good shape.
