Last week, Carolina landed five-star power forward Caleb Wilson, who committed to UNC over Kentucky and Ohio State, and in the process gave Hubert Davis a legitimate building block for next season’s roster. After committing to UNC on Thursday night, in his next game, Wilson put together one of his best games of the season, proving that he’s ready for big-time college basketball. Today, the hype around Caleb Wilson will go to another level, as he was named a 2025 McDonald’s All-American, and will compete in the annual showcase event later this spring. Wilson was named to the West team, which features the #1 overall player in the class, AJ Dybantsa, who committed to BYU over Carolina, and Alabama.

This gives Hubert Davis back-to-back recruiting classes with not only at least one five-star prospect but a McDonald’s All-American as well. When Hubert Davis took over as the head coach, he vowed to get Carolina back recruiting on a national level, and with four top 15 prospects under his belt, and a handful of McDonald’s All-Americans, it’s fair to say he has done just that.

The 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game will take place on April 1st, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, in the week leading up to the 2025 Final Four.
