After a big weekend of official visits, Bill Belichick and Michael Lombardi landed a commitment early on Monday morning in the form of an interior offensive lineman who was part of the group that was on campus.

As first reported by Inside Carolina, 2027 3✮ IOL Lauifi Tosi has committed to UNC following his trip to campus over the weekend. Tosi committed to the Tar Heels over Stanford, Sacramento State and Idaho.

Tosi is a 6-4, 320-pound offensive lineman who is set to play his final season at Millenium High School in Goodyear, AZ. This past season, he played both sides of the line of scrimmage, finishing with eight total tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks. He was named a first team all-conference member for his contributions.

Tosi, the No. 1533 overall prospect and No. 137 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class according to Rivals Industry Rankings, is a nice upside pick up for the Tar Heels along the offensive line. He is a run-blocking specialist who consistently wins his 1-on-1 matchup on those downs thanks to some nice upper body strength and physicality. It will be interesting to see how that translates if he moves inside to guard where he’ll be facing much more physical players than he did at tackle at the high school level. In pass protection, he moves pretty well for his size, but quick and bendy edges could cause him problems at the next level if he wants to stick at tackle. The Tar Heels should be looking for bigger headliners at this position, but this is a solid start for an offensive line that needs reinforcements in this class.

With his commitment, the Tar Heels are now up to six commitments in the 2027 class. The class sits 61st overall and 16th in the ACC according to the Rivals Team Rankings.
