on3.com

The start of the 2022-23 college basketball season is right around the corner, and that means that high school basketball will be in full swing sooner than later. With that, Hubert Davis and his staff will be bust not only coaching the current Tar Heels but recruiting future ones as well. Carolina is currently heavily involved with 2024 PG Elliott Cadeau, the No. 1 point guard in the country according to 247Sports. Cadeau who was on the campus of Louisville this week, visited Chapel Hill back on October 7th, the weekend that Carolina held its preseason festivities now known as “Live Action With Carolina Basketball’. Over the weekend, Cadeau released a list of his top six schools, and North Carolina made the cut, along with the aforementioned Louisville, defending national champions the Kansas Jayhawks, Syracuse, Texas, and Texas Tech, Of his final six schools, Cadeau has visited Carolina, Louisville, and Texas Tech, with plans to officially visit his other three final schools.

This is a positive development for Hubert Davis and his staff, as the 2024 class only has one current commitment, that being local product Drake Powell. With the 2023 class only having two commitments at this moment, and with the way the roster is going to overturn after this season, the 2024 class is going to be an important one as Hubert Davis continues to build the program in his image. Having a point guard like Elliott Cadeau in the fold would go a long way to ensuring that Carolina Basketball remains among the nation’s elite.
