Last week, UNC released all the dates for their upcoming non-conference slate, despite not knowing all of their opponents. One of those dates included the CBS Sports Classic, which will take place on December 21st, in Madison Square Garden, aka the World’s Most Famous Arena or the Mecca of basketball. This is the first time that The Garden will host the CBS Sports Classic, as in the past it has been played in Brooklyn, Chicago, New Orleans, Cleveland, and Las Vegas. Carolina will take on Ohio State for the first time in this event since 2017, when UNC routed the Buckeyes 86-72. The matchup is set to tip at 3:00 PM on CBS. UNC is 5-3 in the CBS Sports Classic, the best record of all participating teams.
