The Tar Heels made it clear last week that they are in search of a starting big man in the transfer portal and on Monday, one of their top targets at the position went off the board to another school.
As first reported by Joe Tipton of On3 Sports, Kentucky transfer Aaron Bradshaw is heading to Columbus to play for Ohio State and new coach Jake Diebler. The commitment comes after Bradshaw took a visit to their campus over the weekend, the first and only visit that he will take. It was reported last week that the Tar Heels were in contact with Bradshaw and seemed legitimately interested, but there are plenty of other players that the team has been in contact with that fit what the team is looking for a little better than he would have.
The team is still hoping to get a visit scheduled with Arizona transfer Oumar Ballo, but Travis Branham did predict on Friday that he would land with Indiana, the school he is currently in the midst of an official visit with. The team has also officially been in contact with Rutgers transfer Clifford Omoruyi and there are plenty of rumors floating around that the team is set to host Yale transfer sometime in the near future.
It seems like the Tar Heels are hellbent on bringing in a transfer in the frontcourt and while this was a target that they were interested in, it still feels like they are in a good spot to land someone at this position in this cycle.
