After a packed day of transfer portal visits for the Tar Heels on Friday, the team welcomed two new targets to campus on Saturday as they continued their search for their first commitment in the portal. Here is a look at the two visitors that were confirmed to be on campus today.
CB Ashton Stamps- LSU

Stamps, 6’0, 190 lbs., was a confirmed visitor to campus on Saturday by Pete Nakos of On3 Sports/Rivals. He is a corner that brings plenty of experience with him, but is coming off of a season where he played just 18 snaps defensively for LSU and left the team midseason. That followed a 2024 season where he was a full-time starter for the team on the outside at corner and had his ups and downs. In 794 snaps, he collected 51 total tackles and nine pass breakups but did struggle at times in coverage as he allowed 33 of his 56 targets to be caught for 476 snaps and three touchdowns. He isn’t the shining star that some of the other corners in the portal are, but he could be a solid, experienced option if the Tar Heels choose to bring him in.
OT Andrew Threatt- Charleston Southern

Threatt, 6’3, 285 lbs., announced on Friday that he was taking a visit to campus Saturday and by all indications he made that visit. He is an offensive lineman that provides some versatility having played every position along the offensive line in his time with Charleston Southern where he has played 1,888 snaps. His experience certainly makes him an intriguing prospect, as does the fact that he is coming off of his best season according to Pro Football Focus. If the Tar Heels do land his services, they will be hoping for him to be a little better in pass protection than he was this season after he allowed six sacks and 17 total pressures. Regardless, this would be a nice way to start rebuilding an offensive line that desperately needs bodies and talent right now.
