The Tar Heels are down to just a few targets in the 2026 recruiting class and on Sunday, one of their under the radar targets announced his top schools list.
As he announced via his social media, 2026 3✮ ATH Jamareis Conyers is down to four schools, UNC, NC State, Rutgers and Wake Forest, four of the many official visits that he took this spring and summer. He will be making his decision on Tuesday between these four finalists. His official visit to Chapel Hill was a midweek visit back on June 10th and seemed to establish the team as contenders for his services.
Conyers, the No. 966 overall prospect and No. 80 cornerback prospect in the 2026 class according to 247Sports Composite Player Rankings. In ten games this past season, Conyers racked up 38 total tackles, two interceptions and eight passes defensed, putting him on the radar for the teams that offered after the season was over.
When it comes to where this recruitment stands, it feels like there is a really good chance that he is going to land with one of the schools in North Carolina, it’s just a matter of which one. This is one to keep an eye on for Tar Heel fans but they might be running third in this race behind both Wake Forest and NC State.
