The Tar Heels may have 37 commits in their 2026 class, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t trying to flip some prospects from the schools that have already fired their head coach.

The latest name to pop onto the radar for the Tar Heels is Florida commit Tyler Chukuyem, who told Rivals reporter Hadyn Hollin on Sunday evening that he will be officially visiting Chapel Hill this weekend for the team’s matchup with the Virginia Cavaliers.

Chukuyem, a 4✮ OT prospect, is ranked as the No. 286 overall prospect and the No. 20 offensive tackle in the class according to 247Sports Composite Player Rankings. He is also ranked as the No. 30 player in the state of Georgia.

Chukuyem hails from South Paulding High School in Douglasville, GA and is part of an offensive line unit that is averaging 165.1 rushing yards per game and 169.8 passing yards per game so far this season. Last year, as a junior, he earned first team all-region honors as a right tackle for a team that averaged 163.3 rushing yards and 125.1 passing yards per game.

As of right now, this appears to be the lone visit that Chukuyem has scheduled, but he does hold offers from 23 other schools, including Ole Miss and Cincinnati, whom he officially visited back in the summer. Let’s see if the Tar Heels can impress him enough this weekend to complete another flip from an SEC school.
