When Hubert Davis met with the media on Friday afternoon, he confirmed that Henri Veesaar would be a limited participant in practice, and that he was officially questionable for Saturday’s game at Syracuse. This evening, the availability report for tomorrow’s game was officially released, and that’s exactly how Veesaar is listed, as the big man from Estonia will look to play for the first time since the loss to Miami nearly 11 days ago. Carolina has gone 1-1 without Caleb Wilson and Veesaar, earning a comfortable win over a bad Pittsburgh team before getting blown out on Tuesday at NC State. The hope is that the real version of this Tar Heel team is somewhere in between the middle of the two games we’ve seen without their two best players.
Not only is Henri Veesar listed as questionable, but the Carolina Basketball program also announced that James Brown underwent season-ending surgery on his right foot on Wednesday, cutting his sophomore season short.
Ivan Matlekovic and Caleb Wilson are also listed as out for tomorrow’s game, leaving UNC with Jarin Stevenson and Zayden High as known bigs available for tomorrow, as they’ll find out the status on Veesaar prior to or during warmups tomorrow.
